Spent A Full Day Outside the House Like a Normal Human Being

Started off at noon at a busy restaurant. Had a long lunch for a couple of hours. Put in the ER 20's with the occasional screaming kids.

Went off to the mall and walked around the beach. Very busy day with lots of tourists and lots of honking horns and car alarms. I trust the ER 20's spared me.

Went to a few pubs, starting early at around 8:30-ish. It was loud. I went with foam 33 dbA NRR plugs. Even with the plugs, the music still seemed a bit loud. I refused to...

Just returned from our local armistice day service. Laid a wreath, watched the darken dank clouds and looked at the faces of the young cadets and wondered of how many of them will see conflict and even die for their country/political will. Wore my poppy with pride and thought of the brave souls overseas as i do at this time of year. Whatever ones beliefs or political stance, lets not forget the sacrifices those before and those now make.

escalating T whats going on?

I finished a very slow taper from benzo in august.But since then my T has been getting progressively worse.The last couple of weeks has been especially bad and i'm in a state of constant panic. I broke down and starting taking 8 mgs of valium since thursday night.the only thing it helps with is sleep.I just don't get why it's getting so much louder.I thought the benzos would help lower it a bit, but it hasn't.I know when I drink 3 or 4 glasses of wine it seems to lower the T a...

Loss of concentration

Before the Internet I use to do a lot of sewing, embroidery, and reading. Since the Internet I find I can't concentrate as well. (Maybe part of the problem is having tinnitus on most days) I do get periods of good concentration but then it goes again. My daughter who works in I.T. finds she too, has a short concentration span - she is correcting it doing crocheting.

Does anyone else have the same problem? Can you concentrate as well as you could say ten years ago???

He died at 83 while I was unable to go online. Just wanted to express my sadness. He was never broadcast (as far as I know) in Australia, but an American friend sent me loads of DVDs of his kid's shows from the 50's and the 70's. His two sons were in 'Tin Machine' (David Bowie was the singer).

Loved his low-budget stuff. It was terrible and great at the same time.

I went to the opening of an exhibit at MOMA yesterday and after I viewed the show, I went to get a glass of wine and sit down and rest my feet. I chose to sit next to a very attractive couple, and after chatting about the show and the wines they were pouring, I asked this perfectly gorgeous young woman what she did. She told me that she was in the fragrance field.

Separating "accepting it" from "giving up"

So here I am, about 3 years into my tinnitus journey, and it's not better. In fact, it's worse. Instead of mainly the left ear, it's both ears now. Good days are fewer. I'm 99% convinced this is being caused by clenching at night, yet no mouth guard has done any good. Meds used to help but they are becoming less effective.

Yet, I can't "accept" that this is the way it's going to be. To me that is analogous to giving up. How have some of you dealt...

WASHINGTON The U.S. unemployment rate climbed to 10.2% in October, topping the 10% mark for the first time in 26 years, the Labor Department reported Friday.

Nonfarm payrolls dropped by a seasonally adjusted 190,000 in October, bringing to total number of jobs lost in the recession to 7.3 million. It was the 22nd straight decline in payrolls. Large losses were seen in manufacturing, construction and retail.

It only seems like I post here anymore when i'm having a really hard time, which is like once a year.

My tinnitus is roughly the same, i'd say it's slightly worse, the other ear rings now, but the loudness in the other ear overwhelms it, so i don't hear it until i lie down.

which has been my problem throughout my experience with tinnitus. It's a phenomenon that no doctor, or member of this board have been able to help me with.
