Anyone here heard of this new hearing aid? It goes for months without changing batteries and it is suppose to sound better than other good aids. I missed the free demo here in my town. It looks like it's expensive.

If your tinnitus is so loud - that the hissing is so high pitched and can be heard over everything? I am coming up on almost 2 years with this, and I feel nowhere closer than I did the first day. It seems I get a slight increase with it about every 6 months. Usually a weather change, or a cold. IT is so High pitched through my whole head...I just don't see how it is possible.

Should I be alarmed?

Has anyone had any experience of this condition? For the past three months after developing some kind of diplacusis , now with some tinnitus. Waiting for MRI scan results. I am a musician, having a dischordant reflex in my left ear to mid to high frequencies. Started off fairly quietly compared to my good hearing and now seems to be louder or changing, not really sure.

Does anyone know any sites that sell maximum protection earplugs that look pink skin colour?
Shops ive been to have these big foam ones that block i think it was 31db but they are bright orange and draw attention......

Im just wondering if there are some less noticeable ones.

I've been using earplugs the last couple of weekends and assumed they were giving me adequate protection.

However, I've been reading about various "derating" formulas, which lower the noise reduction rating of earplugs. Apparently, the best foam earplugs "only" give 25 dBA noise reduction. This is supposedly because the typical user does not use earplugs properly and inserts them shallowly into the ear rather than deeply.

I got an MRI today. Wow, what torture that was... I am so distracted with !#%!@%!+ in my life that I did not even think about requesting an open MRI due to noise issues. I feel violated. I forced myself to lay there for 25 minutes with my T spiking while the jackhammer sounds beat away at my inner ear. I wore ear plugs and muffs. My right ear is HISSING so loudly right now. Tooth implants, tinnitus and ears--- Answers Anyone?????

I have to have a tooth implant. I'm not especially concerned, except that I was telling a friend of mine about it, and she mentioned that a mutual acquaintance, who has tinnitus and other hearing issues, developed a problem around her implants.

So I have gone from being totally unconcerned..( except for the $$ ), to being interested in getting more information.

Has anyone had any dental implants and has it impacted on either your tinnitus or your hearing?
