I perforated my eardrum several years ago and since then have had constantly muffled hearing and tinnitus in my right ear.
The muffled hearing is like when you have been on a plane. If you pinch your nose and blow gently, the ear pops and your hearing returns. I have this constantly. If I pinch and blow, my hearing returns to perfect clarity, but only for less than a minute.
I don't notice the tinnitus so much then as I can hear more background noise.
I saw the ENT doctor and was given a white noise generator. I didn't really get along with this and didn't find that it worked so well.
Recently I've started to use a neti pot for my hayfever and the noise in my ear is now changing a little sometimes.
Does anybody know of a long term solution to the muffled, pinch and blow ear syndrome?
