Hello all -- as a 28 year old whose tinnitus will never have a clear explanation of origin, I was wondering how many of us are in one or both of these boats; how many of you are young, and thus your tinnitus cannot be explained as hearing loss due to age, and how many of us lack any clear event or occurrence that caused your tinnitus?
I have high frequency hearing loss in my tinnitus ear, and that's the official explanation for my tinnitus -- however, how I obtained this is a mystery. I woke up in the middle of the night one night to it ringing away, and had not heard any loud noises on that side of my head any time recently, or gone to any concerts or load spaces, etc. I was coughing up a little bit of mucus a bit that week, so the best guess is a respiratory viral infection, but of course, that will always just be a guess. I'd like to hear your stories too.
