There are currently a number of digital hearing aids on the market with very superior voice clarity and background noise suppression. To my knowledge, none of them have offered any model(s) with the Jastreboff TRT broadband noise generation capability which helps T sufferers a lot.

If you're using a Jastreboff TRT device, it is tuned to provide broadband noise over the full range from 0-20000 Hz. If you tune it to your threshold of being able to hear it (plus a 'bit'), it will become soothing over time.

Now the time can vary QUITE a bit -- from 3 months to a couple of years in most of the successful folks I've heard from.

As of '97 when I visited him, he was almost exclusively using Viennatone. I don't know what product(s) he uses or recommends now.

Asfar as I know, there is pink noise (0-6 kHz) and white noise (0-20 kHz) -- I'm sure there are probably a few other flavors. Fans and air purifiers provide nice noise in the low price field.

After reading Dr. Nagler's post, I looked at the www.siemens.com page and contacted the product Manager
for their Sereniti TCI-C (hearing aid with sound generator) product which is due for release this summer:

She was very helpful to me in finding an audiologist in my area who is currently working with this product.

Hopefully, Dr. Jastreboff will also publish the results of his current study with this product. My thanks to Dr. Nagler for providing the very helpful lead on this product. I will certainly keep EZboard up to date if I do get fit with this device.

With the two Siemen's WNG devices, do you feel that you've achieved habituation or a really significant T improvement ?

The product manager mentioned that the newest TCI-C model has 8 hearing band adjustment and 4 bands of background noise settings. This sounds like a lot --I'm wondering how difficult this is to tune ??

It's great to hear that the Siemen's Digi's have worked out so well for you -- it's also nice to know that the TCI-C is NOT a first generation product.

Apparently, it will be at least 3-6 months before the TCI-C model is available and I'll definitely wait it out.

Do we have any other participant(s) who have tried the Siemen's Digi WNG products ??
