I’m pleased to see that several independent studies show that Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is totally worthless. We should abandon this approach completely. And thus I am very disappointed to read elsewhere that our good friends at the American Tinnitus association are committing a large portion of their paltry research dollars to still more research in this area. Good news is that the Vagus Nerve stimulation results were positive, and more development and human trials are on the way. Sad though, that the folks that will market this approach to us are asking for our money, versus that of venture capitalists. I also saw some veiled and mild results from Acoustic Coordinated Reset approaches – always by researcher P.A. Tass - which would be a wonderful, non-invasive way to re-orient the supposed mal-adaptive tinnitus brain. Still in the “snake oil” category if you ask me. Other assorted “cures” are within, including hyperbaric oxygen (I tried only 12 hours, not 40, and no dice for me), chiropractic manipulation, etc. Intriguing are the findings on gamma, delta and theta brainwave increases, with associated decrease in alpha waves in the tinnitus brain. My hero Jastreboff was featured also. Nothing from my profit-seeking “friends” at UC Irvine, who are, no doubt, busy selling their frightfully expensive sound-based “cures” over the internet and in audiologists’ shops. Stay away until they can present real data at a symposium such as this one, which was in Bruges, Belgium. Hang in there, everyone. Help may arrive in our lifetime. Meanwhile, highly recommend noise generators and TRT-style habituation methods to enable your coping, and continued appreciation of your "new normal" life with a soundtrack.

I spoke with Dr. Bob Martin a couple of weeks ago. He proposed that the cilia in the inner ear normally regenerates at about the same rate at skin is replaced - a cycle of about once per month. Thus he recommends that someone try using RingStop for a period of at least 3 months to give their body a chance to regenerate the cilia through 3 growth cycles, before determining if RingStop works or doesn't work for them. Thank you for allowing me to share my wonderful experience with RingStop with you. I wish you the same patience, tenacity and success that I experienced.
