Posts: 43 08/22/08 1:05 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	How does people reactive to tv cope? i am one of those. My tinnitus becomes loud and really intrusive when i am watching tv or when i am in a shop with tv and electronical service. i have tried with a plasma, but it works very little. What do you do when you go out shopping?or at any bar? i feel i am really wierd coz of this. thank you

I thought it was because we had a crt but then we purchased an lcd but it made no difference. The times it is most difficult is when there is a movie on. I have trouble both hearing and understanding voices. I suspect hearing loss in the lower frequencies is the reason. Aside from turning up the volume there is little else I can do. I tried holding a glass over my bad ear so the the ocean sound would take away some of the aggravation but that really did nothing. I know of some people who place a sound machine behind them. One idea I have is to place speakers behind you rather than only having speakers from the TV. I don't have trouble when I'm out somewhere. greg

Posts: 43 08/22/08 1:48 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	yes but i dont mean about the volume of my tv. i am having trouble with the frecuency of tv´s. i havent got any hearing loss. and i can undestand everything they say on tv. It is just something that makes my tinnitus go so much louder.

I noticed as I was watching tv or playing vcr that my tinn. started increasing in intensity and higher pitch. very sad about it as I like to watch movies and other shows. I can't watch too much at one time. (this also happens with fans, computer, ac, etc). with tv, there must be some frequency noise that's getting my ears. I have the old fashioned tv. I was hoping when we finally got lcd maybe it would be better. I cont to watch tv despite the level of t. I just don't watch as much. Su

You'll get used to it and in time you might say...hey the T is louder when I watch t.v., but then you'll go back to watching and listening to music and go to ballgames and ride your motorcycle and do all of your stuff. pd

Posts: 1281 08/22/08 3:20 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Very well said Painter. Instead of focusing on what "appears" to make it louder, focus on the one thing that makes it go away...You. If you walk in to a shop or sit down to watch tv and subconcious or concious think"damm tv or shop will make my t louder" as on a day long ago your t may have appearred louder in a shop or when you watched tv its not the shop or tv thats making it louder as that is to be frank, insane, its you telling your brain to make it louder as you dont like tv or shops as they appear make it louder. Making it simple, your programming your own brain to increase the perception of noise in certain situations. Good news is you can change your perceptions. Who cares if this or that do this and that. Once you stop analyising the whos whys and wheres, life just gets so much easier. By the way, why not get a t match when its louder and again when its quieter. Guess what the result is? Please, stop analysing everything. Honestly your priming your brain to constantly monitor it. Good news is you can and will with time just not give a damm. Mick
