Ive read reports on the internet that it helps alot of people. Please vote in the poll if you have experience. Thanks Does cannabis help? There have been a few who said it helped and some who said the opposite. I think that it's a matter of choice but I would'nt be suggesting cannabis as a tinnitus treatement. I think there are better options such as CBT. greg

Posts: 1210 (10/25/08 6:15 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	There is a case right now in NYC where cops saw a guy smoking a J and they beat him so bad and stuck a radio up his butt, that he was in the hospital for 5 days. In California and Nevada medical Marijuana is real. You can get a script for a long list of maladys but I don't know if T is on the list. If cops find a joint on you in Nevada without a script , they will write you a ticket. But they do have a strange law , that you can't drive with THC in your blood ,and it stays for about 30 days ,even if you have a script. I don't know if pot helps T but I wouldn't use it unless I had cancer or maybe Glaucoma or a degenerative muscular disease. Then again what if it did help my T and I didn't know it , that would be a shame. I'm going to a party next week and I'll think about it. Last Edited By: plexus 10/25/08 6:30 PM. Edited 1 times.

For me, it has been a part of my life for the past 30 years. I have gone through periods where when I don't smoke, and I fine no difference. However, I can certainly be having a "loud" day (normally due to intensely focusing on my work.. computer related) and at the end of the day I'll have a beer and smoke and shift the focus and forget about it. But, if you are scared and concern, that will most likely be the recipe for whatever you put your attention on. As a chemical reaction to reduce the noise, I would count on it. As a chemical to help you relax a bit, it can work very well. I think, once again, the bottom line is T effects you according to your identification with it. It can serve as the catalyst for great fear and pain... or not. If it triggers the fear and pain (which I have known well:), then I would search for peace of mind, and cannabis etc can effect that.. temporarily. I think this is why Zanax has helped some people, but Zanax is much harder on the body that pot. I used Zoloft for about one year when I was "freaking out"... and it helped me through that rough period. At this time, the only real help has been through personal development through acceptance, surrender, paying attention to my mental chatter.. etc. Eckhart Tolle has helped me the most in that regard. I find body tension a big part of the T, so perhaps the best aid is relaxing:)

Posts: 2 (10/27/08 6:14 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Cannabis makes my T allot louder, but at the same time it removes some of the focus from T as someone said, it always settle down though.. so it has now real benefit for my T. Smoking is, as we all know not good, and will in time make narrow you vessels in the ear and bloodflow and oxygen will now longer travel to the inner ear in same rate. I normaly use a vapourizer so I dont get the smoke into my body. Still my advise to you would me a no. Too much trouble getting it, getting good quality, using is every day will not be healthy fore anyone IMO btw, alcohol has the same effect no my T as cannabis, what happens when you drink, if you do? ott2

A while back after work I had a cigar. How's my T. Right now as I listen for it..it's the lowest of the day. Last week it was a little louder with a cold and the t.v. always brings it up. After 3 years it's an inconvenience. I certainly wish it weren't there and this board was a life saver(not literally) in the early bad times, but I took the advice of the Knowers and learned to get on with what I do. It never stopped me from doing anything, work, play ...motorcycle etc. but it was hard in the begining. The challenge is to not dwell on it. Hopefully all of us will in time learn this important lesson. gl, pd

Posts: 1 (11/17/08 2:48 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	i have been suffering from tinnitus for twenty years. when i retired it did give me some relief however as time went along it got worse i take highblood medication and a sleeping medication i'am sure those meds. have some affect on my tinnitus however some time i have a vodka in the afternoon it helps relive some of the tension. i guess one must do what it takes to get through the day.

A firework exploded next to me of which one of my friends threw made a big bang and it was amplified due to that it exploded in a buss stop. At first I thought the peeping noise would go away after a few hours but it is still the same, so I started to do some research and by the looks of it I have tinnitus. It is a schoking thing to me to find out that I have this now, there is no cure and even a diet to follow if you dont want to increase the pitch of the tinnitus? I have managed to sleep reasonably the past two days despite I find that the noise is pretty loud. I haven't been to the docter yet since I read that the docter is likely to say "you will have to learn to live with it" , but I am still going to go just incase. I still have to finish school and I am scraed this is going to affect me, I feel crippled and can imagine how it is like for all those other people with tinnitus. Going to tell my parents today of what happened. Now for the cannabis part, I smoked a joint with a friend of mine after new years when we got back, and I was thinking that the peep in my ear was gonna go away the next day so I just smoked. But now the peep is still here and to be honest I dont know if the cannabis had any effect on the tinnitus, it might have made me ignore the noise a little. Regards, Philippe Wilson
