Albert Hammond's kid is a member of The Strokes. The song Lillian posted reminds me of ELO a bit in the chorus, not because of the viola but because of the song construction and a couple of chord changes. Here's a song I like that reminds me of a cross between ELO and Todd Runtgren. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16ytEMFhORQrob x 2
"What happened a year ago, we dealt with at that time. Even then, he didn't do anything like revealing a member's name, address and phone number."

I like that song too, Lillian. A couple of nice chord changes in it: The D minor chord at 0:50 and the E chord at 0:57. He writes some good melodic songs and uses chords in a nice way. And he's obviously listened to folks who were masters at well-constructed melodic pop. Besides Runtgren, I hear some late 60s, early 70s Beach Boys in there too. I think the other fellow in the clip you posted is his brother, who sometimes writes with him and produces. Rumer has a new record of cover songs coming out next month with songs by Jimmy Webb, Neil Young, Terry Reid, Townes Van Zandt, Richie Havens, and others. Some of the covers she’s recorded so far like ‘Warmth of the Sun’, ‘Come Saturday Morning’, ‘Long Long Day’ and ‘Goodbye Girl’ are warm and enjoyable. Close to the Sun, a record she recorded in 2008 as lead singer of a group called Stereo Venus was released last month. Not sure if Spotify is available where you are, but it’s on there. On edit: Here's a link on MySpace of some Stereo Venus songs.http://www.myspace.com/stereovenusbandRTM
